What You Can Learn from Elon Musk’s Inauguration Day Nazi Salute – Insights for the Resistance

On Thursday Jan 23, 2025, Elon Musk made an *atrocious Nazi “joke” on X. (*atrocious means horrifyingly wicked)

Elon said:

“Don’t say Hess to Nazi accusations! Some people will Goebbels anything down! Stop Gőring your enemies! His pronouns would’ve been He/Himmler! Bet you did nazi that coming 😂”

Hermann Göring was a very powerful Nazi who among many things oversaw the creation of the Gestapo – the evil Nazi secret police. September 1939 Hitler gave a speech appointing Göring as his successor.

Rudolf Hess was a Nazi who was appointed Deputy Führer to Adolf Hitler in 1933 and he held that position until 1941. Hess signed the Nuremberg Laws of 1935, which stripped German Jews of their rights paving the way to the Holocaust.

Joseph Goebbels was a Nazi politician who hated Jews and advocated for Jews to be destroyed. He also took control of German news media and Goebbels made sure than all of that related content was in line with Nazi Propaganda.

Heinrich Himmler was an incredibly powerful Nazi. He was the leader of the SS – Hitler’s paramilitary organization. Himmler conceptualized what he called the “Final Solution to the Jewish question” – his plan to murder as many Jews as possible. Himmler oversaw the establishment of Nazi concentration and extermination camps to operationalize his atrocious plan.

More than 6 millions Jews were murdered in these concentration and extermination camps.

During WW2 the Nazis also killed more than 11 million non-jews including 4.5 million Soviet civilians, 3.3 million soviet POWs, and 1.8 million poles.

Hess, Goebbels, Gőring, Himmler – those are the murderous, evil people that Elon referenced in his “joke” on Thursday Jan 23, 2025.

Needless to say – making a joke like that is indefensible & despicable and something no decent human would ever do.

Note – As of the writing of this article (Saturday Jan 25, 2025) Elon has yet to have the human decency to delete that X post.

Now on to Elon’s Two Nazi Salutes

On Thursday Jan 23, 2025, Elon Musk made an *atrocious Nazi “joke” on X, and just 4 days earlier on Monday Jan 20, 2025, during a speech he gave at a Donald Trump Presidential Inauguration Celebration Elon Musk did a “Nazi Salute” not just once – but twice.

Tragically a significant number of MAGA / Trump supporters came out right away – some would say in a cult-like fashion – and tried to defend what Elon did.

On a side note – shame on them for attempting to defend such a heinous act.

One of the ways MAGA / Trump supporters tried to defend this heinous act was to say that you did NOT see what you actually saw and that what actually happened was NOT what actually happened.

This ploy – known as gaslighting is an insidious tactic used by narcissistic abusers and fascist regimes alike.

Gaslighting includes denying facts and reality and trying to cause the people targeted to question reality, their memories, and their perceptions.

Speaking from first-hand experience – gaslighting a brutal thing to go through.

So What Can You Learn From All of This?

Here are three specific insights I have for you:

No.1 – Be prepared for much more gaslighting.

Be prepared for the MAGA adherents currently in power here in American to do much more gaslighting. Be prepared for the more cult-like followers of Trump to also do much more gaslighting as they serve their der leader.

No. 2 When Gaslighting Happens Take a Deep Breath…

When you see gaslighting happening take a deep breath and try not to get “worked up” by it. I am very aware that this much easier said that done.

Often – not always – but often, if you wait a bit following a gaslighting incident reality will become more apparent and more clear.

i.e. – Just 4 days after doing two Nazi salutes at a Donald Trump Donald Trump Presidential Inauguration Celebration Elon Musk made an atrocious “joke” on X that featured 4 incredibly prominent WW2 Nazis – tell me that you are a Neo Nazi without telling me that you are a Neo Nazi.

It is interesting to me that I have yet to see even one MAGA / Trump supporter defending this atrocious “joke”.

It is very disheartening to me ( disheartening – but not at all surprising) that I have yet to see even one MAGA politician or leader denouncing this atrocious “joke”.

No. 3 – Know that the Facts Matter, and they Matter Tremendously

When you are up against a fascist regime – like the emerging fascist regime we in America are up against right now – the facts are tremendously important and those in support of the fascist regime will do all they can to twist the facts.

I encourage to read (or reread) George Orwell’s seminal book 1984.

This very astute book covers how truth and facts impact societies and the ways in which they can be manipulated by those in power who want to control and deceive.
