Three years ago today — August 21st, 2013 I got a call from my publisher telling that they were going to publish my first book – Portland Food Cart Stories.

Bootstrap Your Way to a Better Life
In the summer of 2011 I decided to bootstrap my way to a better life and I set 8 goals. One of those goals was to become an Author. I also set a goal to take my writing seriously, and I set a goal to become part of the Portland culinary community.
Jan 1, 2012 I launched Portland Food Cart Adventures and I was certain that this step would become a stepping stone to those 3 goals. I was also sure that if I applied my ideas about Branding, Marketing and Social Media to my own brand that I would attract the attention of a publisher.
20 months from the launch of Portland Food Cart Adventures and 2 years from setting a goal to become an Author, I received a life-changing call on August 21, 2013 letting me know that I was going to become an Author.
