“Great movie! Rapid fire, engrossing dialogue. Not to be missed!” – Steven Shomler, Good Life Movie Reviews   www.goodlifemoviereviews.com

Summary – The story of the founding of Facebook. Also an excellent view into friendship and its limits. a number of interesting details about the founding of Facebook are shared. Details that I never knew. Sean Parker, Founder of Napster was the one who suggested the name Facebook???

Rating – I give The Social Network 4 out of 5 Gas Cans. Very Enjoyable. Go see it in the theater as soon as you can.

My favorite Quote – “Dating you, is like dating a Stairmaster.”

Runner up Quotes – “Did I adequately answer your condescending question?”

“I am 6’5″, 220 lbs and there are two of me”

“I’m devastated by that”

“Oops”

“There is a difference between being obsessed and motivated”

“As for the charges, I believe I deserve some recognition from this board.”

“Your best friend is suing you for 600 million dollars!”

My Favorite Sequence – the scene where Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) goes before a board at Harvard for a disciplinary hearing.

Who you should see the movie with – Anyone was was a fan of The West Wing. Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay for The Social Network. If you liked the great dialogue in The West Wing, you will love The Social Network, Anyone who likes “smart” movies with lots of fast paced dialogue and who are okay with little or no “action scenes”. (not one gun or explosion in The Social Network), Anyone who enjoys a well told, fast paced story.

Other reviews you might find helpful – Frank Tabouring over at The Screening Log did quite a bit of promotion for this movie. What I liked about this movie and other thoughts

Remember this movie come Oscar time.. It will get nominations and possibly more.

Have I mentioned the excellent dialogue in this movie?

Jesse Eisenberg does an amazing acting job in this movie playing Mark Zuckerberg. The other reviews that I have read always mention that Jesse was in The Squid and the Whale and Adventureland. They never mention that he was also in ZombieLand, which came out in October 2009. I saw Zombieland last year with my friend Chris and it is astonishing to realize the same actor played both the character of Columbus and Mark Zuckerberg.

The way Jesse adroitly handles all of the lines his character has in The Social Network is something to behold. (You try and memorize all of those lines and them deliver them in character.)

I also enjoyed the pathos that Andrew Garfield brings to the character of Eduardo Saverin. Poor Eduardo just does not get it. He mean well enough, he just cannot see the big picture.

Justin Timberlake makes the character Sean Parker interesting and novel. Really odd to think the Sean Parker of Napster fame was able to worm himself into having an actual ownership stake in Facebook, simply by befriending Mark Zuckerberg.

Did I mention how much I enjoyed the rapid fire dialogue in this movie?

That’s it.
