A Very Dark Day For My Beloved Country

I am grieving today – Monday Jan 20, 2025.

I love America and the noble ideals that it aspires to, such as:

All people are born with equal rights and dignity, and that everyone has certain fundamental rights, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, that cannot and should not be taken away by any government.

I also very much love freedom, and I dread the oppressive darkness that is descending upon my beloved country.

I fear that here in America we are entering a grim chapter of tyranny, fascism, heightened misogyny, xenophobia, and religious oppression where laws based on the onerous and destructive beliefs of white “Christian” nationalism will be forced upon all of us.

I hope and pray that the republic is able to withstand the affliction and oppression coming our way over the next 4 years.

For those who are greatly discouraged – please remember that self-proclaimed wanna be dictator / strongman Donald Trump did NOT get even 50% off the popular vote on Nov 5, 2024.

Trump only got 49.9% of the popular vote.

I personally don’t see how getting less than 50% of the vote is a landslide, let alone a decisive political victory.
